The ancient Cinque Port of Hythe has a maze of old streets and is steeped in history. Hythe’s streets are crammed with a variety of speciality shops and antique markets. There’s an historic boating canal that runs for 28 miles to Rye. Every two years the canal comes alive with the Venetian fete - a water borne carnival.
The sea still plays an important role in the town’s life there’s the Hythe and Saltwood sailing club and fresh fish is a speciality of the town!
Golf enthusiasts look no further! You have the choice of two golf courses one at the Hythe Imperial located just off the sea front or the Sene valley golf course located in the beautiful village of Saltwood.
From Hythe you can easily get to more than one beach from the famous pebbles of Sandgate to the golden sands of St Mary’s bay.
For the train enthusiasts amongst you there’s the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway and Port Lympe Zoo is a Favourite with all the family!
